Summary of the Service

This provision aims to support participants, predominantly justice service users, in applying for job vacancies in the construction industry and gain the necessary skills & qualifications required and to demonstrate how their existing skills can successfully transfer into this sector.

Programme Duration and Structure

The provision for the course is 4 weeks, with four full-day deliveries per week, combining individual 1-2-1 Sessions and group sessions.

The provision included:

 ●      Individual initial diagnostic assessment and completion of action plan.

●      CSCS Card preparation and exams, including two resits if required,
plus production of the Card.

●      Manual Handling Training.

●      Emergency First Aid at Work Training.

●      CITB Health, safety and environment test 

●      Employability skills -sector-specific CV creation, job search skills, interview
preparation and skills.

●      Awareness / ‘day in the life of’ information session with an employer within the
construction sector (in line with Government guidelines.)

●      Disclosure & including an awareness of issues that could impact the ability to
retain employment.
